Como parte deste movimento, todas as cinco lojas da cadeia sueca em Portugal vão hastear a bandeira Progress Flag — símbolo da defesa de direitos desta comunidade — durante uma semana.
Segundo os responsáveis, a campanha “O Progresso Faz-se” pretende reconhecer que o progresso é difícil e requer trabalho, coragem e determinação. Com esta iniciativa, a empresa quer “enaltecer o caminho que foi feito até agora” e reconhecer que ainda há muito para fazer até acabarmos com a descriminação.
Além da colocação das bandeiras em todas as lojas e da ativação da campanha nas redes sociais, a IKEA Portugal lançou pela primeira vez um concurso destinado a IPSS e ONG’s que pretendam desenvolver um projeto para promover e defender a igualdade e inclusão de pessoas lésbicas, gays, bissexuais, trans e intersexo. A instituição selecionada vai receber um donativo equivalente ao valor total das vendas dos sacos STORSTOMMA. Estes sacos grandes e multicolor custam 1,50€ e pode encontrá-los na loja online.
